This one we didn’t actually have to discuss. It was a no brainer. We gave each other no push back, there was no discussion of cost, and we didn’t care about design. We both agreed it simply just had to be done on day one in our new home. Our first project on our Spokane fixer-upper? Changing every lock.

You would think that our guard dog would give us enough peace of mind, but, believe it or not, Charlotte (pictured above) just wasn’t enough for us to sleep comfortably at night. The real problem is that she was a lover, not a fighter, and like most pugs, she was more likely to snort and slobber on any intruder than actually attack. She did post guard at the top of the steps on day one, and I managed to snap a photo.

Since Charlotte couldn’t be trusted (she was only one small cog in the machine that was a larger security plan), we needed secure entry. Thank you to our realtor who made this obvious recommendation that likely would have slipped our minds with everything else going on. Our first project was a resounding success.
